You are invited to apply for an international experience in Japan as a Peace Ambassador Exchange (PAX) member in August of 2010. The purpose is to see the setting and hear the history of the atomic explosions that occurred in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. There will be opportunity to visit the museums, participate in commemoration activities, and to talk with people who actually experienced the events. There is no age, education or religious criteria. Those interested in participating should have a strong interest in peace.

WFC Events 2010

March 20 – WFC hosts final in Peace Building Seminar, curry lunch at noon, class 2 to 5 PM!

March 27 - WFC welcomes the neighborhood to an OPEN HOUSE, 1 – 4 PM

April 1 – Peace Choir at Peace Memorial Park for Cherry Blossom viewing and picnic lunch 1 PM

April 12 – WFC invites volunteers to spring house cleaning from 10 AM to noon.

May 8 – WFC Annual meeting, 2-4 PM

Aug 2 to 11 – WFC welcomes PAX from America

Aug 6 – WFC participates in full day of activities remembering Hiroshima a-bombing

Aug 7 – WFC and Hiroshima Peace Cultural Foundation sponsors David Rothauser film, “Hibakusha, Our Life to Live” at Hiroshima International House

Sept 8 – WFC visits Akenohoshi Kindergarten

Sept 11 to Oct 6 – WFC Hibakusha visit Truman Library and Museum in Missouri as well as the University of Central Missouri
